Updates on IRC
Welcome to the second issue of the AASP International Relations Committee (IRC) student newsletter! The goal of this newsletter is to support current and aspiring international students in the United States and abroad. We in the IRC have international careers ourselves and have the goal of sharing our practical and research experiences, which hopefully can help others. We are also proud to have brilliant friends who have invaluable advice to share and will be participating in interviews that run in our newsletter as well.

In this issue, the IRC is widening its distribution to all members of AASP. The first issue was distributed to all 358 AASP members living abroad, with a total of 184 unique visitors to the website that hosts the newsletter. We are proud of the reach! We would now like to welcome new readers and invite them to spread to the international students and professionals in their circles – the IRC’s newsletter content is open access to all.
In this issue, you will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about sport psychology in Japan and Singapore;
- Obtain information about upcoming professional development events taking place around the globe;
- Get the perspective of Nikola Milinković, an international sport psychology professional and Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC) who has lived, studied, and worked in various parts of the world;
- Learn more about migrant athletes’ experiences and how to support them from an interview with Tatiana Ryba; and,
- Read advice on choosing an advisor for graduate school.
We hope that you find this newsletter interesting and helpful as a guide to navigating international settings in our field. We are extremely interested in your feedback and ideas for future issues. Please email us at aaspirc@gmail.com with suggestions and feedback.
