Updates on IRC - August 2022

Welcome to the second issue of the AASP International Relations Committee (IRC) student newsletter! The goal of this newsletter is to support current and aspiring international students in the United States and abroad. We in the IRC have international careers ourselves and have the goal of sharing our practical and research experiences, which hopefully can help others. We are also proud to have brilliant friends who have invaluable advice to share and will be participating in interviews that run in our newsletter as well.

Welcome to the AASP’s International Relations Committee’s (IRC) student newsletter! The goal of this newsletter is to support current and aspiring international students in the United States and abroad. We in the IRC have international careers ourselves and have the goal of sharing our practical and research experiences, which hopefully can help students and professionals planning to follow this path. We are also proud to have brilliant friends who have invaluable advice to share, which you will find via our interviews with them in our newsletter as well.

This issue comes with a new website that will host current and past newsletter issues. You can learn more about our committee and members on this website and also access previous newsletter issues. Thank you, Barbora, for the amazing work on this website!!! To help we continue to reach more people in various countries with this newsletter, please feel free to share it with anyone – you don’t have to be an AASP member to read it.

In this issue, you will have the opportunity to:

  • learn about sport psychology in Germany;
  • obtain information about upcoming professional development events from around the world;
  • learn about the intricacies of moving to a new country when working with sport psychology;
  • read about the special issue from JASP that includes a Global perspective on anti-racist praxis; and
  • read advice on how to prepare to study in the USA.

We hope that you find this newsletter interesting and helpful for you to navigate international settings. We are extremely interested in your feedback and ideas for future issues. Please email us at aaspirc@gmail.com with suggestions and feedback.
