I hope everyone is enjoying a great fall season, wherever you are!

This latter part of the year continues to be a busy and exciting one for the International Relations Committee (IRC). We have continued to work hard in assisting AASP to identify Distinguished International Scholar Award recipients, and recognize opportunities for achievement in the field. In the IRC, we also develop and implement strategies to increase opportunities for and engagement of international professional and student members, and create strategic relationships with partners to expand international reach. At the AASP Annual Conference in Orlando (October 2023), we co-hosted the International Jamboree (IJ) with the AASP Diversity Committee to help create and foster meaningful relationships cross culturally. We had approximately 80-100 attendees with around 15-20 countries represented. One of our members, Yanai Sanag, also presented with members of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, & Justice (DEIBJ) Committee on better supporting students and practitioners residing abroad. The discussion centered around creating action plans to recruit and integrate international students, and ensuring that greater diversity is represented across AASP organizational positions.

Our December 2023 newsletter comprises exciting news and research, including:

• The landscape of sport and performance psychology in the Czech Republic
• Interview with a seasoned practitioner from the Hong Kong Sports Institute,
• Dialogue with a researcher and practitioner who specializes in the development and peace (SDP) programs in underserved nations, and
• Professional development / upcoming events around the world.

As we continue to stay committed to supporting our international members, we also strive to hold space for underrepresented and marginalized communities in our profession, and hope you will join us one day in contributing to the field of sport psychology globally.
